Adam Svec’s third solo release, Weaks In The Waves, includes 11 tracks recorded with Adam Krinsky (Produced: Pieta Brown, The Alarmists, No Bird Sing, www.adamkrinsky.com/Krinskys_Site/Main.html)
and Graham O’Brien (No Bird Sing, grahamobrien.bandcamp.com
). Svec’s band is typically comprised of an accordion (Ben Rengstorf), a glockenspiel (Karen Salter), two electric guitars (Chris Salter and Adam Svec), and lots and lots of vocals (Karen slays it); however, in addition, Graham will be joining the team on drums for select shows. The new release also features Eric Blair / Joe Horton (No Bird Sing) on vocals and rhodes, Casey O’Brien (Tony Katsu, Face Candy) on bass, and Robert Mulrennan (No Bird Sing) on guitar. As you may have noticed, I’m a big fan of No Bird Sing… and I could not be happier that they were involved in this process. Although I think the tracks speak for themselves and live in an independent space, Weaks In The Waves is recommended if you like John Vanderslice, Elliott Smith, and Low.
